Original Summary
Hey r/SideProject - been heads-down on this for a while and would love genuine feedback on the concept, not just eyeballs. WristCoach takes a workout video (YouTube/TikTok link), a typed routine ("4 rounds: 40s box jumps, 20s rest"), or a photo of a handwritten/whiteboard plan, and turns it into a structured, guided session you run right from your wrist - every interval, set and rest cued and timed, with your heart-rate zone shown live. Where it came from: I kept finding good workouts - a coach's video, a whiteboard at the gym, a plan a friend texted me - with no easy way to actually follow them hands-free once I started moving. Pausing a video between sets or re-reading notes mid-set was the actual problem I was solving for myself. How it works: Share a link, type the workout, or photograph a plan Review and edit the parsed steps - every name, duration, set and rest is editable before you start Run it on the Watch or the iPhone, with cues, HR zones, and a report afterward Two things I'm genuinely unsure about and would value this community's take on: Does "auto-structure a workout from a video or photo" solve a real problem, or is reading/remembering it yourself just not that hard Would you trust the parsing, or want to double-check every step every time no matter how good it gets Happy to go into how the parsing pipeline works if anyone's curious - that part was the hardest to get right. Can drop a couple of real screenshots in the comments if people want to see the actual screens. submitted by /u/Acrobatic-Park-5698 [link] [comments]
