Original Summary
I was doing weekly research during fantasy football season across different news articles and feeds. I am not that hardcore playing in 10 different leagues but it's always fun to talk trash to friends over the weekly games. I ended up leveraging my background in IT and started to build. Then started to be like what if i just do the work to productionalize it and put it in both apple store connect and google play console...so that's what i did. It's front end is react with expo. Backend AWS and Snowflake. Yes, I know Snowflake can be expensive for this but it's what I am most comfortable with to get started quickly. I built it for both Android (what i have) and iOS. I didn't realize how much of a pain going through apple store connect and google play to get an app out there...i feel like most of the time for the last few weeks was waiting for apple reviews. I am still in the closed testing window with google play. So what does the app do? It syncs with your real Sleeper or ESPN league (Yahoo's in the works, waiting on their API approval) and pulls in your actual roster, not generic rankings. From there it does the stuff I used to do by hand: A weekly AI breakdown of your team specifically: injuries, matchups, tier movement, who's trending up or down A start/sit assistant that actually reasons through your lineup instead of just spitting out a number Waiver pickup alerts when someone on your bench has a real upgrade sitting on the wire Matchup difficulty based on real defense vs. position data, not just "this team is bad on defense" A sandbox mode to test lineup/roster changes before you actually make them I'm still actively building on it. New features, tuning the AI so it reasons more like an actual fantasy manager instead of just repeating stats back at you, fixing stuff as real users find it. It's a solo project, not a team, so if something's off or you've got an idea, I'm the one actually reading it. Known hiccup on first open for a couple people. If it looks blank for a second when you first launch it, just close it and reopen, it'll load fine after that. Already fixed for next update. App comes with 7-day trial for the AI content. One league stays free forever, no AI features locked behind that. The trial's really there for people who want the AI stuff (weekly breakdown, start/sit reasoning, waiver alerts). If you end up trying it, genuinely want to know what's confusing or what you wish it did. Building this mostly solo so real feedback is the only feedback I get. It was a little hard with just being android user and leveraging my old ipad for testing. submitted by /u/Overmind-Fantasy [link] [comments]
