A few months ago, I posted about my side project, Sportsdle being stuck at around 6k clicks every 28 days. Today, I’m getting close to 15k!!! Sportsdle is a daily sports guessing game I’ve been building on the side, and while it’s still a relatively small project, seeing the traffic more than double in just a few months feels like a pretty big milestone for me. What I’m most proud of is that roughly 95% of the traffic has come organically. I’ve spent very little on marketing. Most of the growth has come from SEO, continuously adding new games and features, creating more indexable content, and improving the site over time. There wasn’t one viral moment or some magic SEO trick. It’s mostly been a lot of small improvements compounding over time…. Still a long way to go, but after being stuck around 6k for a while, seeing the graph finally start moving again feels pretty damn good.
