Original Summary
I’m an engineering student, and before every exam I’d hit the same wall. I’d know we covered something, say Thevenin equivalents, but have no clue which lecture it was in. So I’d open lecture 1 and Ctrl+F, nothing, lecture 2, nothing, and so on. Even when I found it, half the time the topic was split across multiple different lectures and I’d miss the others. I figured someone had already solved this, but after a day of looking I couldn’t find anything that did exactly what I wanted, so I just started building it. A few weeks later it worked well enough that some friends in my classes wanted it, so I turned it into an actual site. It’s called LectureLeaf (lectureleaf.com). You upload your lecture slides and notes for each class, search a term, and it shows you every lecture and the exact page it’s on. Click the page and it opens right there. It takes PDFs, PowerPoints and Word docs, and it can read handwritten notes too, although messy handwriting is still hit or miss. It’s free to try. There’s a paid plan if you need more storage, but the free one should be enough to see if it’s useful. Honestly I’m mostly looking for feedback at this point. If you’re a student, would you actually use something like this? Is having to upload your files a dealbreaker? And if you try it, tell me what was confusing, because I’ve been staring at it too long to tell. submitted by /u/ItsJustSawyer [link] [comments]
