Original Summary

I’ve been looking at the AI visibility space for a while, and one thing keeps bothering me. Most tools answer questions like: “Does ChatGPT mention my brand?” “How often do I appear compared to competitors?” “What sources are being cited?” Useful, but for commerce brands there’s another problem. A brand can be visible in an AI answer and still be represented incorrectly. Wrong price. Old product information. Out-of-date availability. Expired campaigns. A product that actually exists being described as unavailable. For an e-commerce brand, that feels much closer to a revenue problem than a visibility metric. I’m currently building Genopto around this idea: monitor AI answers, compare commercial information against the brand’s actual data, identify likely sources of inconsistencies, and then re-check whether the answer changes after a correction. Still early and preparing the first pilots. For those building B2B SaaS: would you treat this as part of GEO/AEO, or as a separate category around AI data integrity? If anyone here works with e-commerce brands and has seen this problem, I’d genuinely like to compare notes. genopto.com submitted by /u/GPTinker [link] [comments]
