Original Summary

Hi everyone, My father and I have been developing our own software for a while. It’s for a very niche industry: a program designed for cold room manufacturers to make things like design, drawings, calculations, material lists and quotations easier. We’ve been developing it for about 3 years. Actually, we originally built this software for a friend of ours who has his own cold room manufacturing company. We sold him a license and he is currently using it. Over time, we kept improving it based on requests and feedback from people working in the cold room industry, and it has now become a much more professional product. The target market is very niche, so I’m a bit confused about how to approach the marketing side. Our goal is to reach the global market, and we’ve already added 8 different language options to the software. I’d especially like to ask people who have built and sold their own software or have experience marketing a B2B/SaaS product: If you were in my position, how would you market a niche software like this? Would you focus more on Google Ads, SEO, LinkedIn, cold email, direct sales, trade shows, distributors, etc.? How would you go about finding the first customers? If you’ve sold a similar product before, I’d also really like to hear about the things you did and thought, “I’m really glad I did this.” I’m not trying to sell the product here for now. I genuinely want to hear advice from people who have experience with this. submitted by /u/the_perceval [link] [comments]
