Original Summary
Hi everyone, I want to share a small side project. It’s called Whisper & Word, a story reader for kids around 4 to 8. Each story is short and illustrated, and you go one page at a time. You can read it to your kid, or turn on “Read to me” and it reads each page out loud. Some of the stories are retellings of Bible stories (Feeding of the 5,000, the Red Sea, Noah’s Ark), and the others are Bible-inspired stories I like, such as The Other Wise Man, Saint Nicholas and Martin the Cobbler, which the app marks as “inspired by”. Why I made it: I watched The Chosen and loved it, because the characters feel so real. Yes, they take some liberties, but it made faith feel close and human to me, and I started wondering if little kids could have something like that too. There are some great Bible apps for kids already, but I wanted something smaller and slower, with just a few stories I picked myself. My daughter is still too small to read, but one day she will, and I’m building this for her first. There are only six right now and I’ll keep adding more, slowly. It’s at www.whisperandword.com I’d love to hear what you think. If you read Bible stories with your kids, how do you usually pick which one to read? submitted by /u/Travel3877 [link] [comments]
