Original Summary

"selling outcomes" isn't a new concept for software. the VCs and linkedin influencers have been saying this for a while, even if they don't really know what they mean when they say it. here is my take. most of us are using AI agents all day now. it is becoming increasingly clear that UI is becoming a bottleneck to real work. we pay for subscriptions to many platforms, and having to log in simply slows us down. we all want to just hook up Claude/Codex to our apps and command work from there. but as a saas owner, are you offering the functionality you desire the tools you subscribe to? you might've built an MCP, but maybe it is really limited. MCP/API works really well for dev tool shaped products, but not so much for true b2b saas. i'm betting on b2b saas companies offering "agentic services" wrapped around their MCPs. one MCP might not be able to deliver real value to a customer. even if you expose a bunch of MCP tools, your customer's Claude likely doesn't have the domain expertise to do the task correctly. and as a saas owner, you don't just want to give away every internal API. I think the solution is a priced outcome or unit of work, not simply charging per MCP/API call. what I am calling an "agentic service" customers shouldn’t have to figure out which tools to call or teach an agent how their industry works. they should be able to request a specific piece of work, know what “done” means, and know what it costs. that’s what we’re building at aimdoc.ai if you run a b2b saas company, what’s one piece of work your customers would happily pay you to take off their plate? submitted by /u/aimdoc-ai [link] [comments]
