Original Summary
I’ve been building Flocksy for years. We started small, stayed bootstrapped, and grew it into a ~$5M ARR business with 70+ people working across the company and contractor network. Now we’re at probably the most interesting point in the journey so far: AI is changing the creative industry incredibly fast, and we’re having to rethink what Flocksy should look like because of it. That means questioning things that worked for years. Our positioning. Our services. How creatives use AI. What clients actually value now. Where humans still matter most. And what our moat should be if AI keeps getting better. There’s a ton of content about starting a SaaS company and getting your first customers. I think there’s a lot less about what happens when you already have a real business, real revenue, a large contractor network, and then the market starts changing underneath you. So I figured I’d do an AMA. I’m also documenting the Flocksy journey publicly with dates and receipts so there’s an actual record of the decisions, pivots, and results instead of me just telling the story afterward. Here’s the verified history/proof: https://thonest.com/c/flocksy Ask me anything about bootstrapping, getting to ~$5M ARR, pricing, churn, hiring contractors, building a creative subscription business, competing in a crowded market, or how we’re thinking about pivoting Flocksy because of AI. Happy to talk about what worked, what didn’t, and what I’m still trying to figure out. submitted by /u/FalconOut [link] [comments]
