Original Summary
Hello HN!
My name is Sam and this is Craig. Craig is a local-first TUI for managing AI coding agents. It’s agent-agnostic, creates isolated worktrees by default, and has a rich CLI for the agent to interact with to manipulate state and perform actions in the TUI.
I started building Craig when I got a job offer at a shop that was using Cursor. I was previously using Claude Code with Conductor and really enjoyed this type of experience. However Conductor didn’t support Cursor at the time and I wasn’t a big fan of the Cursor 3 Agents interface. For personal projects I was using mostly Codex with some Claude Code. Switching between tooling was frustrating. Around the same time I also started really enjoying the agent CLIs and how they just “felt good”.
Craig kind of builds on that and I think of it as a heads-up display and controls around the CLI. With the TUI being keyboard-driven you can get into a nice multi-task flow and move around pretty quickly. The UX is made to be low friction and high signal-to-noise.
To get started you can run
npm install -g craig-cli, launch your favorite terminal (I like Ghostty), pop it in fullscreen and run thecraigcommand. Once you launch it you can create a workspace, this can be a single repo directory or multiple. Then create a new task under the workspace to launch Cursor, Codex, or Claude. Do your thang, and use your agent to create a PR. You’ll see Craig automatically sync that PR, poll for checks and let you know when the PR is ready to merge. Merge it and keep moving in the same thread or start a new one.
I’d love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think - any feedback is greatly appreciated.- 情报分类:工作与职业机会
