Original Summary

built this last week. HubSpot only lets you require manager approval before a deal moves stage on its top Enterprise tier, and smaller teams keep asking for it in HubSpot's ideas forum. the catch: HubSpot apps get no pre-save hook. you can't say no to a stage change, you only hear about it afterwards through a webhook. so the app does the next best thing: listens for dealstage webhooks if a deal lands in a gated stage without a valid approval, it moves it back to the last ungated stage from the deal's history, leaves a note and creates tasks for the approvers approvers approve or reject from a card on the deal, approve moves it on an approval remembers the amount and the other deciding values, so raising the amount later means asking again stack is a cloudflare worker with D1 and a queue, all on the free plan. the 10 ms CPU limit forced me to split every gate check into small queue messages, which ended up cleaner anyway. honest limits: it's a move-back within a couple of seconds, not a lock, so automations that trigger on "entered stage" can still fire in that window. and it's not listed on HubSpot's marketplace yet, so the install screen shows HubSpot's unreviewed-app warning. full disclosure, it's my app (Deal Approvals & Stage Gate, free tier). if you have any HubSpot portal, even the free CRM one: https://deal-approvals.kayabyte.dev/oauth/install?src=reddit feedback on the setup flow or on the move-back approach in general is very welcome. submitted by /u/Select_Mixture_1014 [link] [comments]
