Original Summary
Hey r/SideProject ! I got tired of heavy, bloated Markdown editors and complex setups just to paste and preview text from ChatGPT or Claude, so I built MarkKISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid). What makes it different? Zero Bloat, Databases and embedded AI junk: 100% private, offline, and database-free, relying only on a local config.json. AI-Friendly: Cleanly parses and renders messy AI copy-pastes and LaTeX markers without breaking layouts. Lightweight: Runs via a simple portable script without heavy Electron frameworks. Key Features: Synchronized side-by-side scrolling and adjustable split screen. Offline LaTeX rendering using local KaTeX assets. Built-in PDF export and print preview. It's free and open-source.
