Original Summary
I've been building CaptureFlow, an open-source screen recorder where you record your screen and camera and get a share link when you stop recording. The whole backend runs on Cloudflare, and you can deploy it to your own account. How it's put together: Workers: the web app is Next.js 16, deployed to Workers with OpenNext. It serves the landing page, dashboard, video player and API. R2: the recordings and screenshots. Private recordings play through links that expire. D1: users, workspaces, comments, reactions and access rules. Queues: product emails go out from a separate Worker that works through a queue, page by page. Email Service: invites and notifications use the send_email binding, with Resend as a fallback. Admin: an instance admin panel runs as its own Worker on its own hostname, using the same D1 and R2. The recorder itself is a Chrome extension, and a native macOS app is coming soon. A few things I learned along the way: Bindings are request-scoped, so I resolve them on every call instead of caching them at module scope. R2 has no egress fees, which is what makes free video hosting workable at all. Self-hosting is a few wrangler commands, and the docs walk through it step by step. The code is AGPL-3.0, and the capture engine is MIT.
