Original Summary
I sell bracelets on Etsy. Before that got serious I’d already shipped IndieBean — accounting for indie app developers — and when my bead spreadsheet fell apart I realized nobody was building the same thing for physical makers without the QuickBooks + Craftybase price tag. MakerBean is accounting and shop analytics for people who buy parts (beads, wire, findings), turn them into products with recipes/variations, and sell on Etsy, Shopify, craft fairs, and the like. You track inventory and costs, record sales with fees in the picture, and COGS updates when you sell — not a spreadsheet that breaks at 30 SKUs. There’s expenses, P&L, and proper books underneath, but the day-to-day is maker-focused: what’s on hand, what each piece costs to make, what you keep after fees, which designs are worth remaking. Reports like product profitability and inventory cost recovery mattered to me because marketplace dashboards don’t show material cost. Data stays local in a .makerbean company file. Free tier for small shops; Pro is a one-time unlock, not another $40/month line item. Disclosure: I’m the developer — I built this for my own shop, and hope that it will be of value for some of you as well. Happy to answer questions about what this does, how it might apply to you, etc. Download info: MakerBean — MLP Software submitted by /u/Ok-Speech-9490 [link] [comments]
