Original Summary

For context, I'm a UX/UI designer who noticed a lot of designers like myself sharing versions of their work-in-progress and asking which one people prefer - almost like A/B testing but for opinions. I also noticed other creatives doing the same thing, e.g logo designers posting different logos for the same business and saying "Which one is better, left or right?". The problem was, the creator then had to go through the comments to see which one people prefer. Also, they had to either have the options on a carousel so people had to swipe to compare, or they had to create a custom graphic to show them side-by-side. So I built an app to allow any creator to share their work-in-progress and have a poll built right in to the post. I didn't want to limit it to just designers like myself, so I opened it up to accept any media type - images, videos and audio. I'm thinking of interior decorators sharing concepts of a room style, choreographers sharing options of a dance routine, sound mixers sharing two different music compositions, etc. The problem is, I'm struggling to get users because I feel like I can't compete with them sharing on Instagram or Reddit, even though the platforms lack this feature. (Yes Instagram has introduced polls into comments - this is now my main competition - but people don't seem to use it much). How could I possibly convince creators to share their work-in-progress on a platform that is more aimed at their community, but obviously doesn't have the same audience size? The app is newartvote.app if you're interested. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. submitted by /u/box-shadow- [link] [comments]
