Original Summary
I run Claude Code on a remote Linux server and connect to it over SSH from my Windows PC. One thing kept bugging me: I couldn't paste screenshots into it. The server has no display, so there's no clipboard, and Ctrl+V did nothing. So I put together a small fix similar to clipssh library which has no direct windows support: - a tiny Python script on my PC that reads the Windows clipboard - an SSH tunnel that forwards it to the server - a fake xclip on the server, which is what Claude Code calls when you paste Now I take a screenshot with Win+Shift+S, press Alt+V in Claude Code on the server, and the image shows up. It starts on its own at login, so I don't have to touch it. It took more debugging than I expected: Windows Terminal swallowing Ctrl+V, Python crashing when run without a console window, scheduled tasks stopping after 3 days, and more. I wrote down every issue and its fix in the README in case someone hits the same ones. I built it for my own setup, but if you use Claude Code on a remote box from Windows, it might save you some time. https://github.com/rohithpadmanabhuni/clipserve submitted by /u/_pr1ya [link] [comments]
