Original Summary

I kept ending up with messy Downloads/Desktop folders full of PDFs, images, ZIPs, code, 3D files and random stuff. So I built Sift, an open-source Rust tool that lets you define how each folder should organize itself. It can organize recursively, use different rules per folder, and Watch can keep folders organized automatically as new files arrive. I also built it around safety: dry-run by default, no silent overwrites, symlink/project protection, history and undo. There’s also a small desktop tray UI to manage watched folders without staying in the terminal.
