Original Summary
Wattlebooks is a free invoicing app for sole traders, open source under MIT. I started it for Australian tradies and freelancers who pay a monthly subscription for accounting software but only really use it to send invoices and work out their GST. What it does: Tax invoices and quotes with the right tax for Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada or the US, emailed as a PDF Works out your tax return figures for the quarter (the BAS in Australia, the VAT return in the UK) Drop in a receipt photo and it fills in the expense. On Windows it uses the text reader built into Windows, so the receipt never leaves the PC Reminders for late payers, client statements, repeating invoices and billing in 13 currencies It runs on your own computer with no account. There's an optional phone app, a free pilot, for snapping receipts on site. It's on the Microsoft Store for Windows, with Mac (preview) and Linux downloads too.
