Original Summary
If you use agent skills with Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools, you might install someone else’s skill and then tweak it for your own workflow. Updating it later gets awkward: what changed upstream, and how do you keep your edits? I built skills-check-updates , a small open-source CLI for skills installed through Vercel’s skills CLI. Think npm-check-updates , but for agent skills. It lets you: Check for updates without modifying any files. See upstream commits, changed files, and comparison links. Update while merging your local edits. If changes conflict, it skips that skill and leaves it untouched. You can try it from a project containing skills-lock.json : npx skills-check-updates Repo and demo: https://github.com/irekrog/skills-check-updates submitted by /u/irekrog [link] [comments]
