Original Summary
Hey everyone, I wanted to share Tagdown, a desktop notes app I’m working on. Notes are stored as .md files in local folders, and the editor adds support for callouts, columns, tabs, math, and diagrams. It has tags, wikilinks, backlinks, a daily journal, and full-text search. You can edit the source, use a split view, or edit individual blocks in the preview. One feature worth showing is queries inside notes. For example: <query tag:project show:tasks /> That lists tasks from notes tagged project . Queries can also display notes as editable tables, cards, or boards. Moving a note between board columns updates its property. There’s also a presentation mode that splits a note into slides at --- , and an option to export notes as a static website. For anyone who wants to work with their notes from other tools, there’s a CLI and an MCP server for searching, reading, creating, and updating notes. The app uses Tauri, Rust, and vanilla TypeScript. The source is MIT licensed, and the repo includes build instructions. GitHub repository If you’d like to contribute, PRs, bug reports, and documentation fixes are welcome. You’re also welcome to fork it, build it for yourself, and change it to fit how you work. I’d be curious to see what people do with it. submitted by /u/sth6 [link] [comments]
