Original Summary
For about 3 years I ran a small inventory app for shops on the side. It got to 15 paying subscribers, around $10/month each. Not nothing, but I never really pushed it, because honestly I wasn't proud of it. It was missing things people kept asking for, it wasn't as stable as it should be, and every new feature meant weeks I didn't have (or knowledge I didn't have). So 10 days ago I started over. New name, new code, nothing reused. AI wrote most of the actual code (Claude Code), and I spent my time deciding what to build, testing it on real devices and fixing what it got wrong. It's called Binhop ( https://binhop.app if you want to check). It has a lot of things that the old one never had, and it works perfectly and looks much better than the one I designed by myself. Vibe coding reflexion: I'm an iOS developer with 10 years of experience and I see clearly that coding doesn't make sense anymore (I haven't write a single line of code for more than 6 months at my current job). So everyday I wonder how I can adapt to this new reality and I think that the answer to this is that I have to be a Product Engineer now, mixing product and coding. Have any of you thought about role change? Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts and talk a bit about my new SAAS. :) submitted by /u/Embarrassed_Bad1659 [link] [comments]
