Original Summary
The video is me, with StageMane's notes coming up on the picture as I talk. I built it for myself. I wanted to get better at public speaking but wasn't consistent, because reviewing a recording properly took a long time and at the start I didn't know what to look for. The apps I tried gave general feedback, and too much of it to actually read. I wanted to see the moments where things went sideways. So that's what it does. You record yourself in the browser or upload a file, 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and the review marks the words where your pace, pauses, volume, pitch or tonality slip. On video it also covers your hands and eye contact. Every note says what happened and one thing to try. Then the notes turn into a short lesson where you redo only those passages and find out whether the new try fixed it. If you opt in, you can also hear a passage in a copy of your own voice, said the way the note asks. It doesn't invent problems. A part that works gets no note, and some of what works gets called out as a strength. Pace, volume and pitch are measured from the audio itself. The monotone rule, for example, comes from a 2005 study of how listeners hear pitch (Hincks), and isn't a model's opinion. It's free right now: five minutes of reviews when you sign up, and more every 24 hours. English only. stagemane.com submitted by /u/Environmental_Duty17 [link] [comments]
