Original Summary
If you've ever submitted your startup to directories, you probably know this pain. You find a directory, fill out the submission form, and then... "Please add our badge to your homepage to verify your website." Okay, fine. Open VS Code. Find the footer component. Copy the badge HTML. Commit. Push. Wait for deployment. Done. Then you submit to another directory. Same thing. And another. And another. Suddenly your footer looks like a NASCAR race car, and you've spent more time managing badges than actually working on your product. I thought this was ridiculous. So I built Badgeroll. The concept is pretty simple: - Add one snippet to your website, once. - Manage all your directory badges from a dashboard. - Add, remove, or reorder badges without redeploying. - Check whether verification bots can actually see your badges. - Keep everything organized instead of turning your footer into a badge graveyard. It also has a directory list to help you find places to submit your startup. Nothing groundbreaking. Just solving a surprisingly annoying problem. I finally shipped it: https://badgeroll.com But I'm genuinely curious: For those of you who've submitted products to startup directories, do you still bother with directories that require homepage badges? Or do you just skip them entirely? I'm starting to wonder whether the backlinks are even worth the hassle. submitted by /u/DebChan111 [link] [comments]
