Original Summary
Hey everyone! I've recently launched an Android app called Anchor Dojo . It's something I've been working on independently, inspired by my own experiences with trying to stay consistent with personal goals. I've often found that starting something new is the easy part. Staying committed to it over weeks or months is much harder. Between work, everyday responsibilities, distractions, and shifting priorities, it's surprisingly easy to lose sight of things that once felt important. And sometimes, after falling off track, even getting started again takes effort. Over the years, I've picked up ideas from books, personal experiences, and plenty of trial and error that have helped me approach this differently. I wanted to see if I could bring some of those ideas together into a practical app. Anchor Dojo is my attempt at doing that. It has a few core features: 🧭 True North: Keep a meaningful long-term goal in sight and reflect on whether you're moving toward it. 🎯 Daily Anchor: Decide what matters today and organize your time around it. ⚔️ Focus Rivals: Identify recurring distractions, understand your patterns, and try strategies to deal with them. 📈 Steadiness: Track your consistency and progress over time, including how you recover from setbacks. 🤖 AI guidance: An optional Claude-powered companion to help think through goals, challenges, and next steps. I've also included some simple, optional daily check-ins for sleep, hydration, eating well, and physical activity. I feel that looking after ourselves plays a part in having the energy and clarity to pursue our goals. One thing I've tried to keep in mind while building Anchor is that the user should remain in control . Even with AI, I'd rather the app help someone think through their options and make their own decisions than simply tell them what to do. The app works locally without AI, and those who want AI guidance can connect their own Claude API key. I've been an Android developer for many years, but building and releasing a product of my own has been a different and rewarding experience. It's also given me an opportunity to explore AI integration, product design, and some ideas that are personally important to me. I'm still figuring out how useful this approach will be to others. My hope is that Anchor can make it a little easier for someone to build an active, healthy routine around their goals, stay reflective about their progress, and find their way back when things don't go as planned. And if someone eventually gets where they wanted to go and doesn't need the app anymore, I'd be quite happy with that outcome too. I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts and experiences. What tends to derail your progress when you're working toward something important? Have you found any habits, strategies, or tools that help you get going again? And if you decide to give Anchor a try, I'd really appreciate your feedback, including
