Original Summary
Hey all, I live and build my product in Europe, but my target market is the US. It’s a paid subscription tool for retail investors, and the US has by far the largest audience for it. So I’m planning to launch there first rather than in my home market. The problem is that I have no network in the US, I’m not physically there, and I don’t know the local channels the way a US founder would. For those of you who’ve done this, I’d love to hear what actually worked: Paid ads: did Facebook/Instagram ads targeting the US work for you at the early stage, or did you burn money? Any other ad channels that performed better (Reddit, Google, X, TikTok)? Organic channels: communities, content, SEO, newsletters, podcasts, partnerships? What brought in your first real users? Waitlist and pre-launch: did you build a waitlist before launch, and what drove sign-ups? Being a European company: did it hurt trust or conversion with US customers? Did you set up a US entity, use US pricing in dollars, or do anything else to look “local”? Biggest mistakes: what would you do differently if you were starting over? Proven tips and real numbers (CAC, conversion rates, budgets) are especially welcome, but any experience helps. Thanks! submitted by /u/pskrobich [link] [comments]
