Original Summary
Hi all, I’m a PHP developer from Belgium. I want to build a few small apps that earn a bit on the side, and Matchly is the first one: a tool to run a league or a knockout tournament without the spreadsheet chaos. I picked this because almost every club, pub and friend group runs some kind of competition, and most of them still do it with a spreadsheet and a lot of WhatsApp messages. What it does: Round robin leagues (single or home and away) and knockout brackets, with byes and seeding handled Live standings, player pages and head-to-head records on a public page Players don’t need an account or an app: they follow via a link, WhatsApp or a QR code A TV screen mode for the bar or clubhouse Schedule a round over your courts and time slots, add matches to Google/Apple/Outlook calendars Share a result as a picture, print match sheets, start next season in one click English, Dutch and French There’s also a free bracket generator that works without an account: https://matchly.be/bracket-generator The app itself: https://matchly.be Right now it’s free, with a donation link. Later there will be a paid plan for bigger clubs (more competitions and participants), but a small league stays free and players never pay. I’d love honest feedback: what’s confusing, what’s missing, what would make you use it for your own club? submitted by /u/JyroClassified [link] [comments]
