Original Summary
Hi everyone, My sisters work at a medical university, and they often ran into dense, specialized literature where standard tools like Google Translate failed miserably—either spitting out literal nonsense or completely missing the medical context. I didn't personally need this kind of tool, but seeing their daily reading friction made me want to build a real solution for them. That’s how InstantRead was born. Instead of generic translation or heavy AI sidebars that eat up the screen, InstantRead automatically detects the context and delivers accurate, inline breakdowns right beside the text. It auto-detects and specializes across 4 distinct domains: • Medical & Clinical: Biomedical papers, clinical reports, anatomical terms, pharmacology, and pathology mechanisms. • Academic & Science Papers: Complex academic phrasing, abstract/methodology breakdown, and study logic. • Technical & Engineering Docs: Architecture specs, API documentation, and engineering jargon. • Legal & Compliance: Patent filings, regulatory frameworks, contracts, and complex conditional clauses. Looking for feedback: The extension is live on the Chrome Web Store. It has already helped my sisters with their workflow, but I’d love to see how it performs for researchers, students, and professionals here. I’m giving away 20 free lifetime access codes to anyone who wants to try it out. If you’re interested, just drop a comment below or send me a DM, and I’ll send over your promo code! submitted by /u/Glittering-Web5716 [link] [comments]
