I really wanted to use an em dash in that title, but now I feel like I can&#x27;t.<p>This is a time-based trivia game with a bit of a twist. 7 questions. 60 seconds to answer the first. 0.94 seconds to answer the last. If you get any question wrong or let the timer expire you&#x27;re out for that game.<p>Let&#x27;s also get this out of the way: I used Claude Code to build this game. The first version took a couple of hours and in total I&#x27;ve spent about 10 hours tweaking and improving it. Happy to talk about that!<p>The stack is simple: one Cloudflare Worker and D1 (SQLite), plain JS, no framework<p>If you&#x27;re a Soundgarden fan you already know what inspired the name of the game, the song Outshined.<p>What inspired me to create the game is I love trivia (even though I&#x27;m not great at it) and a friend of mine built a nearly impossible game completely different to this. That got me thinking what kind of nearly impossible trivia game I could make.<p>So far 92% of players fail, which makes me think I should make question #7 more difficult because 8% are getting all 7 questions correct.<p>Totals since launch (not including my own playing&#x2F;testing):<p>- 651 games played - 178 (26%) out on the first question - 54 (8%) got 7&#x2F;7 correct<p>I&#x27;ve had feedback that has run the gamut from &quot;I hate time games&quot; to &quot;This is so fun!&quot; so I don&#x27;t even know what to think about feedback anymore.
