Original Summary

Most ping tools give you one average and call it done. But the average hides the spikes - the 5% of packets that make a game feel like rubber-banding. This one runs 72 probes over ~20 s, all in your browser, against a CDN edge. You get avg, p95, p99 and jitter - four numbers, not one. Then it downloads 4 files while it keeps measuring, so you see what the latency does when the pipe is actually busy. 12 game-region presets (Frankfurt, Tokyo, Chicago, Sydney ...) frame your result in context. And the honest note is right there in the UI: it measures HTTPS round trips, not ICMP, so under good conditions it reads ~5-15 ms higher than a ping - that is the point of the note, so you do not misread the number. Nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up. https://appdoesit.com/apps/network-latency-tester/ Try it by yourself :) Which region do you play in, and is your p99 where you expect it? :) submitted by /u/paq85 [link] [comments]
