Original Summary
I've been building Piano: Soloist ( https://pianosoloist.app ) as a solo project, and today I shipped v2.0 with its first paid tier. Drop in a MusicXML or MIDI file — e.g. one you downloaded from MuseScore — and it plays the piece with falling notes, an animated keyboard and the sheet music highlighted in sync. No install, no sign-up, and your files never leave the browser. I use it to make all the piano videos on my YouTube channel. A few things I'm proud of: Repeats handled properly – repeat signs and endings are followed in real playing order. Hand balance – accompaniment and inner chord notes are played slightly softer so the melody comes through (it also detects when the left hand carries the melody). Keeps playing with the screen off – iOS stops Web Audio when the screen locks, so the app pre-renders the whole piece offline and plays it through an <audio> element while the visuals follow its position. Medley mode – queue up several pieces and play them back to back, with repeat, shuffle and a sleep timer. Free: playback, listen mode, bar jump & loop, speed control, 4 timbres, 720p recording. Pro (one-time, lifetime): high-quality grand piano (16 velocity layers), Medley mode, 1080p watermark-free recording, unlimited saved scores. $19.99 launch price until Dec 31, plus a 3-day free trial (no card). No sheet music is sold — you bring your own files, and the built-in samples are public-domain classics. I'd love feedback, especially on the first-time experience. What would make you actually use something like this? submitted by /u/DustComprehensive749 [link] [comments]
