Hi all, sharing something I've been building for a while. My brother, my sister, and I live in 3 different cities for work and study. My mom sees us properly maybe once every few weeks on a video call, and she really looks forward to it. WhatsApp and Snapchat are there, but for her they're too much: groups, statuses, forwards, chats everywhere. She just wants to see her kids. So the idea was simple. Each of us sends one photo a day (or skips a day, no pressure), and it shows up as a widget on her home screen. She unlocks her phone and sees what all 3 of us are doing. No app to open, nothing to navigate. I'm setting it up on her phone next, so honestly she hasn't used it yet. That's the plan. The idea isn't new. Locket and others exist. But I'm a developer (5 years, apps and web before AI came along), and I wanted it my way, so I built it. I used AI a lot to move faster; I won't hide that. What it does right now Send a photo from the camera or gallery, add a caption if you want, and pick who gets it It lands on their home screen widget. You can put one widget for everyone or one per person, in small, medium, or large Snaps clear after 24 hours, so the widget always shows today. If you like a photo, you can save it to your phone Sender can choose "keep on widget until my next photo" if they want it to stay longer Seen receipts and emoji reactions Add people with an invite link, email, or code Block/report and delete account are there About privacy , since people will ask: photos are private links that only open inside the app, and they get deleted from the server after 24 hours. I'm not keeping anyone's photos. There's a small banner ad to keep it free, and ads have nothing to do with your photos. What I'm thinking next , maybe as a paid tier later- nothing decided- maybe add them also as free; Groups, like a family circle Short videos Keeping memories longer than 24 hours More people I want to see how people actually use it before building any of this.
