Original Summary

I'm building VAKT Free, a free, privacy-focused cybersecurity monitoring application designed to help people understand what's happening on their home networks. The idea is to make network security easier to understand without requiring advanced technical knowledge. What I've built so far: Suricata security event monitoring Device inventory and labeling Suspicious activity alerts Security event history and explanations Local data storage Sensor health monitoring Support for 5 languages Military-inspired security dashboard What I'm planning next: Real-time network monitoring Automatic device discovery Unknown device alerts Malware and phishing detection AI-assisted threat analysis Research into AI worms and compromised AI agents Firewall integrations and optional threat blocking Simple Windows, macOS, and Linux installation The project is still in early development. The current prototype analyzes existing security logs. It doesn't automatically block threats or detect AI worms yet. My goal is to keep the basic version completely free and make it genuinely useful for everyday users. I'd love your feedback: Would you use a free tool like this? What features would you prioritize? What's missing from existing home network security tools? I'm building this in public and would love to hear your thoughts. submitted by /u/NordCRM [link] [comments]
