Original Summary
A lot of language-learning products revolve around short exercises, video, audio or conversations with other people. But for someone who enjoys reading, the options can feel less satisfying. Beginner material can be childish or dull. Content you actually care about can be too difficult. You end up choosing between being bored and constantly reaching for a dictionary. I’m building a web app to explore another approach: read about something that interests you, with the language adapted to your current level. The idea is to keep the substance interesting for an adult reader while adjusting the vocabulary and sentence complexity. You could choose an easier reading experience, stretch yourself a little, or read the original with help when needed. I’ve made an early Figma Make prototype. Spanish is the demo language, not the scope of the product. The prototype uses sample content and preset adaptations; it doesn’t generate adaptations yet. No account needed to explore. Before building further, I’d love to hear from people who have tried reading in another language: What was harder; finding something interesting, finding the right difficulty, or getting through it without constant interruptions? And how are you solving that today? submitted by /u/muhendispenguin [link] [comments]
