Original Summary
G’day everyone, I’m a carpenter from regional Victoria and for the last 7 months or so I’ve been working on building a platform called CrewD. Basically, it’s a website designed to connect tradies looking for work with construction businesses looking for workers. I’ve recently launched it and while I’m pretty happy with how it’s all come together, I’m quickly realising that building the thing was probably the easy part haha. I’ve been doing everything myself so far, from building and testing the platform to making videos, posting on social media and reaching out to tradies and businesses. I’ve managed to get a few people signed up and a couple of jobs posted, but I’m finding it pretty difficult to get some real momentum going. I think the biggest challenge is getting people to give a new platform a go when there aren’t heaps of people or opportunities on there yet. I’m definitely no marketing expert, just a chippy who had an idea and decided to have a crack at it. I’m keen to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar position or has any advice on getting those first users onboard. I’d also love to chat with anyone who’s got experience in marketing or growing startups and might be interested in getting involved or helping me get it off the ground. I’ve put a fair bit of time and effort into it and genuinely reckon it could become something useful for the industry. Just need to figure out how to get it in front of the right people now. Appreciate any advice or feedback! Cheers! submitted by /u/BusExcellent7211 [link] [comments]
