Original Summary

I'm exploring a native Mac app called Layouts after getting frustrated organising my iPhone Home Screen. Before building it further, I'd like feedback from people who use both an iPhone and a Mac. The intended workflow is: connect by USB, load your existing pages/apps/folders, rearrange them on the Mac, save named presets such as Everyday or Work, then apply a preset back to the phone with a backup and verification. Homepage Panda and Unjiggle already address this space. My proposed emphasis is a polished native Mac editor and a clear personal preset library. I'm not claiming a technical breakthrough or that it works better than those tools. This is an early design concept, not a working product demo. The Mac scaffold exists, but iPhone reading/writing has not been implemented or tested in Layouts. Widget support, exact spacing and restore fidelity still need investigation. A one-time purchase is the working idea; no price is set, and there's nothing to download or buy. A few things I'd especially like to understand: When did you last reorganise your Home Screen, and what was frustrating? Would a USB cable each time you load/apply a layout be acceptable? Would apps, folders and saved presets be useful if widgets/custom gaps weren't reliably supported initially? Would you consider paying once for this, or is it something you'd rarely use? Honest objections are as useful as interest. I'm deciding whether to pursue it, not collecting sales. submitted by /u/No-Abbreviations4821 [link] [comments]
