Original Summary
Hey r/SideProject ! I've loved the Raspberry Pi since uni, but every project starts with ordering parts and waiting a week. So I built PyRasp , where you prototype the whole thing in the browser first. Its FREE to use for now, until I figure out if people do want to use it. How it works: You buy parts on a small virtual budget and wire them in Python: pi.GPIO18 >> ring.din You program it with the libraries a real Pi uses (gpiozero, RPi.GPIO, neopixel…) You hit Run and it runs on a simulated Pi: LEDs light up, sensors give readings, motors spin When you're happy with it, Export gives you the code, a wiring sheet and a shopping list to build it on real hardware There's also a daily challenge: build the thing as fast and as cheaply as you can, and see how you compare. You can signup just using a username, no email needed. I'd love to hear what feels off compared with real hardware, and which parts you'd want added. If you are anything like me - I deliberately built the platform to feel the good old "kick" that you once used to get before vibe coding took over. Learn from scratch, read docs, break things, fix them - without losing money and time. https://pyrasp.com/?ref=reddit-sideproject submitted by /u/nuclearnadal65 [link] [comments]
