Original Summary

Hi r/SideProject , I'm Mo, one of the founders of WebCAD. It's parametric CAD that runs entirely in your browser: you sketch, extrude and assemble parts, run a stress test on them, and export STEP or STL. An AI helper, CAD Genie, builds and edits simpler parts from a description. Pictures, all made in WebCAD: a city bike with a 100-link roller chain, a stress test on its crank arm, and a 5" quadcopter: https://imgur.com/a/JNK7p4x Why I'm building it: most CAD needs a big install, a strong laptop or an expensive license. Students on locked school computers and makers who just need a bracket for their printer get stuck before they start. Where it is now: last week we had visitors from 55 countries and 68 new sign-ups. It's free to try, and the AI helper has a free monthly allowance. What would make you try it, and what would make you close the tab? app.webcad.ca submitted by /u/Flaky_Percentage_144 [link] [comments]
