I spend most of my day in a terminal, and I love how much a good one tells you at a glance. I'd built some terminal-style widgets for a personal productivity app, and I kept looking at them more than the app itself. So I pulled them out and made them their own thing. Backtick is a set of terminal widgets for your Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy. Your calendar, tasks, weather and the rest of your day, in a clean monospace look. • How it works Pick a widget, put it on your Home Screen, and it just runs. The big one is a full-page terminal with your whole day on it: what's next, your open tasks, the weather and your battery. The Console widget has up/down/enter keys, so you can move through your agenda, tasks and forecast without ever opening the app. There are also widgets for people who live in a shell: a git log contribution graph, a focus timer with a Live Activity, a curl widget that shows any value from any JSON endpoint, and an echo widget you can set from Shortcuts. • Make it yours 13 themes, including Dracula, Nord, Gruvbox, Rosé Pine, Everforest, and (new in 1.4) light ones like Paper and Latte. You can set a different theme on every widget, and pick SF Mono, Menlo or Courier. Light themes automatically switch to a dark version on the Lock Screen and in StandBy, so they're always readable. • Privacy No account, no server, no tracking. Everything is read on your device, and the App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected." • Cost Free to download. The Terminal widget, Next Up, the status line and message of the day are free for good. Pro is a one-time $4.99 that unlocks every widget and theme. No subscription. 1.4 adds a free 7-day trial of Pro; it never turns into a charge, and you get a reminder the day before it ends. Backtick is built natively in SwiftUI and WidgetKit, with App Intents for the interactive widgets. The clock uses a 7-segment font I drew from scratch, and its seconds tick live without the widget having to reload. I'm a solo developer and it's still early, so I'd genuinely love feedback.
