Original Summary
I built TextFold (previously PaperFold) to let me choose how much of a long document I see. You can fold it into a section map, then open the paragraphs you want to read. I've added Word document support, language switching that also changes the interface, and a way to save the reading page as one HTML file. The saved page keeps the reading levels, notes and highlights, and can include the original PDF. The video shows a .docx after import, the language switch, and a saved HTML page with the PDF beside it. The reading levels and translations were prepared before recording. It's free and open source (Apache 2.0). The app runs on your computer; generating the reading levels needs a model. You can use Ollama or a hosted provider. Code and setup: https://github.com/chenxiachan/textfold I'd like feedback on the reading flow: when you fold a document, what would you want to stay visible?
