Original Summary

I’m building a tool for website owners who want to add useful widgets to their sites but don’t want to spend hours figuring out which ones work best, where to put them, and when to show them. The idea is simple: you decide which widgets are available and what you want to achieve. AI handles the rest. For example, a website might have a newsletter signup, a product recommendation, an affiliate offer, a lead-generation form, a related-content widget, or something entirely different. Instead of manually testing different widgets, placements, and situations, the AI looks at the page context and available visitor-behavior signals, then decides which widget to show, where to show it, and when it’s better not to show anything at all. The goal is to take the ongoing guesswork and manual testing out of widget optimization. You define the options; the AI makes the decisions and measures how they perform against your chosen goal. I’m trying to figure out whether this solves a real problem or whether most website owners would rather manage this themselves. A few questions: Do you currently test different widgets, placements, and variations on your website? How much manual work does that involve? Would you find it useful to let AI handle those decisions instead of setting up and analyzing tests yourself? What would you want the AI to take into account before showing a widget? How much control would you want to retain? Would you prefer to approve every decision, set rules and limits, or let it operate autonomously? What would make you trust it? What would make you reluctant to use it? Would you pay a monthly subscription for something like this? If so, what would it need to do to justify the cost? What would be a dealbreaker: irrelevant widgets, annoying visitors, slower page loads, privacy concerns, lack of transparency, or something else? I’m not trying to sell anything here. I’m trying to understand whether people actually want to delegate this kind of work to AI and what they would need from a tool like this to feel comfortable doing so. Honest feedback—including if you think it’s unnecessary—would be really helpful. submitted by /u/guided82 [link] [comments]
