Original Summary

Hi all. I'm an indie developer, and for the past few months I've been building vaneform ( https://vaneform.com ) on my own, with a lot of help from AI coding tools. What it does: type in any domain and see its estimated traffic, traffic sources, top countries and competitors. There are also leaderboards across ~1M sites: biggest traffic, fastest growing, most traffic from AI assistants like ChatGPT, and backlinks. Why I built it: I kept wanting to check "how big is this site, and where do its visitors come from" for side-project research, and most tools put that behind a $100+/month paywall. What's free: 999 lookups a day with a free account, plus the top 100 of every leaderboard. There's a $12/month Pro plan for keyword rankings and API access, but the core lookup is meant to stay free. Some things I'm unsure about and would like opinions on: - Is the site page clear on first visit, or is it too dense? - Which leaderboard would you actually come back to? - The data are third-party estimates, not real analytics. Does that make it less useful to you? Happy to answer anything about the build too, including what worked and didn't when coding a full product with AI. submitted by /u/Disastrous-Pear-6078 [link] [comments]
