Original Summary
Hi, I’m Florian, the developer of ReelFin. I’ve been building a native client for watching movies and shows from your own Jellyfin server, and it’s now available for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. The app uses SwiftUI and Apple’s playback frameworks. The current release includes synced viewing progress and resume, audio/subtitle selection, and Quick Connect on Apple TV. Compatible files use Direct Play; Jellyfin can remux or transcode when needed. It’s free and proprietary, and requires iOS, iPadOS or tvOS 26 or later. You need your own Jellyfin server and media; the app doesn’t provide movies or server access. The public release doesn’t include offline downloads, music or Live TV. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/reelfin/id6762079357 I’d appreciate feedback from people who use Jellyfin on Apple devices, especially on Apple TV navigation and the server connection flow. Which part would you want to see demonstrated before trying another client? Disclosure: I’m the developer, I used AI coding tools during development, and AI helped draft this English introduction. submitted by /u/MachineAppropriate62 [link] [comments]
