Original Summary

Reading a number from a document and working out an answer are worlds apart when filling forms. I'm Arun, the developer of Fyllyo, a Mac app that fills PDF forms from supporting documents. For the calculation side, I use a hybrid approach: the local model extracts facts, then code and formulas handle the form's arithmetic and conditions. The 1040-X demo on the site uses synthetic documents. It shows an amount owed of $449, with the preparer's worksheet excerpts underneath so you can check where the answer came from. The reviewer can inspect sources, correct answers and save the completed PDF. The important limit: correct arithmetic doesn't help if the model read the wrong amount. Separating those steps makes it easier to work out whether a problem is in the extraction or the form logic. The inputs and completed PDF still need human review. Supporting documents are processed on your Mac. Configured forms work offline after setup and the initial model download. Adding your own blank fillable PDF uses cloud setup with the blank form and your instructions, paid for with separate credits. Apple-silicon Mac required; 16 GB memory recommended. Five-day trial, no card. $99 once for one Mac at a time, with lifetime updates.
