Original Summary
I was made redundant two months ago after five years at the same company — they lost a lot of business and the role went with it. Five years in one place meant my CV and my interview skills were both rusty. I applied to a few companies and got ghosted or rejected outright, without a single interview invitation. So I rewrote my CV, read every interview thread I could find, and applied again. Same result. What finally worked was slower and more specific. Before each application I'd sit down and work out what that company actually does, what the role was really for, which parts of my experience mattered there, and where my honest gaps were — then prepare for those. Within a week things started moving. The problem is it took hours. Every time. For every application. Nobody keeps that up across 40 applications, which is why most people fall back to sending the same CV everywhere and hoping. So I built Evaalta — the thing I wish I'd had in week one. How it works: Upload your current CV, or build one from scratch Paste the company name and the job ad for the role you're going for You get a briefing on the company and what they're really hiring for, interview questions for that role with feedback on your answers, a skills check, and a CV tailored to that job Practise until it feels natural The part I was stubborn about: it won't invent experience you don't have. Plenty of tools will pad your CV with whatever the ad asks for, which falls apart the moment an interviewer asks a follow-up. Evaalta only reorders and rewrites what's genuinely in your CV — and where there's a real gap, it tells you, so you can prepare an answer instead of being caught out. It's free right now. You get 2 job preps and 2 AI CV reads; building, editing and downloading CVs is unlimited. If you run out and want more, message me and I'll top you up. Three things I'd genuinely like opinions on: Is the company briefing the valuable part, or the tailored CV? I built the briefing first because it's what helped me most, but everyone testing it goes straight for the CV. Anyone who's job hunted recently — what would make you use something like this before an interview rather than just winging it? Would you pay for it, and roughly what? Per application or monthly? Genuinely undecided. evaalta.com submitted by /u/Grouchy_Inspection_7 [link] [comments]
