Original Summary
Frankly and honestly, I’m a SUPER SCROLLER . I love scrolling YouTube, TikTok, Threads, and other social platforms whenever I have a spare moment. Almost every day, I come across so many interesting things. I like them, comment on them, and sometimes even save them. Logically, after consuming so much content every day, I should have accumulated a wealth of knowledge by now, right? All those little pieces of information should have added up to something. But almost every night, when I put my phone down and lie in bed, all I have to do is try to recall what I watched that day, and my mind goes completely blank. It feels like being called on by a teacher when you haven’t done your homework. I stumble, hesitate, and can barely come up with an answer. The truth is, we love liking, commenting on, and saving content. But most of the time, all we do is tap the like button and move on. When we save something, we simply throw it into a collection folder, where it gathers digital dust. How ironic is that? I discussed this with Claude, and one idea stuck with me: information is abundant, but our ability to process it is limited. We keep consuming, but rarely stop to reflect. So I thought: What can I do to change it? That’s how FavPicks came to life. It’s not only a cross-platform social media bookmark app, but also with three simple rules: Maximum 5 items per day. Keep only what really matters. Archive at the end of the day. Your collection is saved only when you consciously archive it. Reflect on what you save. Explain why you like it, summarize it in one sentence, or give it a title in your own words. Before launching the app, I had already been using FavPicks for a while. And honestly, I absolutely love using it! Let me show you some of the things I’ve recorded : September 11, my FavPicks : “So, should GarageBand be renamed ‘TerraBand’?” September 25, it was: “Calcium supplements for children: cigarettes.” (Don’t worry, it’s a meme.) October 8, it was: “Harvard: Trauma turns the learning brain into a survival brain.” Over this period, I’ve been genuinely happy with how FavPicks has helped me in my daily life. FavPicks encourages me to stop and think about what I actually enjoyed most each day. Over time, those small moments of reflection add up, helping me turn my scrolling habit into an opportunity for deeper thinking and meaningful knowledge accumulation! The goal isn't to quit social media. It's to get more out of the time we already spend on it. Curious to hear your thoughts on this idea!
