Original Summary
Screen recordings are great. For support docs. For quick bug fixes. For walking a teammate through a setting. But I keep seeing founders put a raw screen recording on their homepage and expect it to convert. Here's what that video usually looks like to a new visitor: → 30 seconds of a cursor wandering around a dashboard → "So here you can click this, and then over here…" → Every feature shown, none of them explained → No problem. No story. No reason to care. You know your product inside out. So it all makes sense to you. Your visitor has never seen it before. To them it's just a busy screen and a lot of clicking. A screen recording shows what your product does. A product video shows why it matters. That's the gap: It starts with the pain your buyer actually feels It zooms in on the one moment that solves it It cuts the clutter so the eye knows exactly where to look It ends with a clear next step Same product. Same features. Completely different reaction. Keep the screen recordings for your help center. Your homepage deserves a video that sells. submitted by /u/Amir_Nazir [link] [comments]
