Original Summary
I just launched a side project that might interest other devs here: an AI tool that grades Steam capsule art. The problem: your capsule art has about half a second to earn a wishlist on Steam, and most indie games fail before anyone reads the description. When I was prepping my own game's Steam page, I went through a dozen capsule versions with no idea which one was actually good. Friends' feedback was polite and useless. So I built CapsuleGrader. Upload your capsule, pick your genre, and in under 10 seconds you get: A score out of 100 and a letter grade A 10-point checklist (focal point, contrast, genre signal, thumbnail readability, etc.) A thumbnail survival test — how your art holds up at Steam list-view size Prioritized fixes, each backed by a real Steam game as the "what good looks like" reference It evaluates all 4 official Steam capsule types and benchmarks against 15 genres — a horror capsule gets judged by completely different rules than a strategy one. 3 analyses are free, no account. I launched it quietly and two people subscribed before I did any marketing at all, which is why I'm posting this — turns out capsule art anxiety is a whole market. Would love feedback, especially from anyone with a Steam page live. What's your score? capsulegrader.com submitted by /u/Apart_Athlete_8651 [link] [comments]
