Original Summary
I've been researching something that I think deserves more attention from B2B SaaS founders. When someone asks an AI assistant, "What are the best tools for my specific problem?", which products actually make the shortlist? I tested a fixed, brand-blind buyer question in the lead-distribution software category. The buyer needed routing, buyer bidding, caps, integrations, and a marketplace for unsold leads. Across four recommendation responses, established products kept appearing, while a smaller SaaS with relevant advertised capabilities wasn't mentioned once. What's interesting is that one answer struggled to identify a complete solution for unsold-lead monetization, even though the omitted company advertises a reverse-auction marketplace. A few caveats: Four answers are a small sample. A missing recommendation doesn't prove lost revenue. Similar advertised features don't necessarily mean equal product quality. I haven't established why the omission happened. But it made me wonder whether founders are measuring actual buyer recommendations rather than only Google rankings and website traffic. For those running B2B SaaS: have you checked whether AI assistants recommend your product when buyers ask about your category? And if you've tested it, did the results surprise you? submitted by /u/Far_Check_2577 [link] [comments]
