For years I knew exactly one thing about my girlfriend's cycle: when her period started. Everything else seemed to come out of nowhere. The days she was full of energy, the days she wanted to be close, the days where everything felt heavier. I took things personally that had nothing to do with me, and I missed the moments where I could actually have helped. I'm a developer, so I did what developers do. I built something for us. It's called Lunatwin. What it does for me Shows which day of her cycle she's on and what's usually going on: energy, mood, desire and how sensitive she might feel Gives me one small, concrete tip every day: what to do, what to avoid and what to say Gives me a heads-up before the phase changes, so the days before her period don't sneak up on me anymore Cards to draw with a small gesture, a date idea or something to say, so I'm not always making it up on the spot What it does for her She has her own version where she tracks her cycle and shares how she feels and what she needs that day. It shows up in my app, so she doesn't have to explain it every time. For both of us A small daily game: we each pick things like "sushi or pizza" or answer one question about us, and the answers only show when we've both answered. Silly, but surprisingly fun. What actually changed I'm a lot less confused and a lot less defensive. I've gone from "what did I do?" to "what do you need?". I plan the fun stuff for the days she has energy for it and keep things calm when she needs that. And she feels understood without having to spell it out. It's not a medical app or contraception.
