Original Summary
I'm building Lektoro, a set of tools for Shopify stores. One small tool is a free barcode checker: paste up to 500 UPC/EAN/GTIN codes and check the list without signing up. The barcode checks run in your browser. A quick example with sample codes: 4006381333931 — passes the check-digit test 4006381333932 — wrong check digit 4006381333931 again — flagged as a duplicate The important bit: passing the maths doesn't mean the code belongs to your product. It doesn't look up GS1 ownership, and changing the last digit just to get a green result isn't a fix. You still need to compare it with the manufacturer's actual barcode. Try it: https://lektoro.pl/tools/gtin-checker/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=free_tools&utm_content=sideproject_gtin_20261012 If you work with catalogue exports, which would make this more useful: CSV import that keeps the product names beside the errors, or a downloadable report? submitted by /u/BossTight [link] [comments]
